Glenn Hauser logs June 24-25, 2016

** ALBANIA. 9854.95, June 25 at 0127, R. Tirana at S5 with IS under the same humroar it`s been putting out for at least a week; 0130 I can tell the canned sign-on is playing, but with extreme distortion. Still awful at 0151. How much longer will this go on? Wolfgang BÃschel and Noel Green agree that the evening broadcasts to Europe on 7465 have the same defect (and probably the morning on 7390) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** ARGENTINA. 15343.924, June 24 at 1341, JBA carrier no doubt from LRA, so back on the air after missing from 11711v during the early UT hours of same day. Wolfgang BÃschel agrees, ``Yes Glenn, nothing heard out of RAE Argentine, when checked both 11710 and 15343v kHz in night June 23 / 24. wb``.
11710.39, June 25 at 0056, JBA S1 carrier, presumed RAE is back on air, barely (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** BRAZIL. 4965.0, June 25 at 0125, JBA carrier in the clear. Altho Aoki shows two possibilities, R. Alvorada, Parintins, Amazonas, Brasil, and R. Santa MÃnica, PerÃ, the DSWCI DBS of 2016 does not even mention MÃnica, just Alvorada confirmed active as recently as March (Voice of Hope, Zambia is also going to use this frequency, but surely not at this hour) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** EGYPT. 9315, June 25 at 0116, R. Cairo is nothing but a horrible blob from 9312 to 9318. 9965 is better (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** OKLAHOMA. 1640, June 24 at 0553 UT, KZLS is still OFF, like earlier in evening. Possibly correlates with a non-severe storm which recently moved thru the Hennessey transmitter site area (but not Enid); and nobody has got out to the site to reset something (if not more serious). But it`s still off at many further chex: 1337 UT, 2220 UT; June 25 at 0138 UT and 0406 UT (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** PERU. 5980, June 25 at 0102, JBA carrier from R. Chaski, until clear cutoff at 0102:48*, which is 52.5 seconds later than last check 8 nights earlier, June 17 until 0101:55.5*, or averaging 6.56 seconds later per, i.e. exactly the same within margin of error to previous span calculated at 6.55 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** SRI LANKA. 11905, June 25 at 0115:17, 2+1 mis-timesignal is JBA from SLBC following prÃlude from about 30 seconds earlier (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST
** THAILAND [and non]. 15564.9, June 25 at 0050, two signals, stronger one in Chinese off-frequency; VOA via Udorn is scheduled this hour only, and judging from wb`s observations, it`s the one off-frequency, rather than the CNR1 jammer (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** TURKEY. 9770, June 25 at 0059, La Voz de TurquÃa IS and ID, S6-S8, but no signal on // 9870 (nor 9830 mistaken alternate). 0119 recheck, now 9870 is on but S2, much weaker than 9770 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U K [non]. 13580, June 24 at *0559, BBCWS via ASCENSION is S9+20, good for breaking news about UKOGBANI leaving the EU, which of course is the only news BBC covers past 0632+ when I fade out. For a few seconds at 0600 there was a strong SAH from some other unmodulated carrier, BBC another site, or another Ascensionian? (Meanwhile, 13725, RFI English hour direct from France is too weak, unreadable tonight.) No BBCWS bigsig to be heard after sunrise here! But
12085, June 24 from 1205 tune-in until 1300, R. Australia picks up the Brexit story, and nothing but, during the ABC-TV news hour soundtrack of `The World` (how original), well done (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1831 monitoring. Confirmed Friday June 24 at 2130 on WRMI 15770, JBA; and from 2130.5 on WRMI 13695, excellent. Also confirmed Friday June 24 at 2330 on WBCQ, 9330.014-CUSB, poor. Next:

** U S A. 7489.97-AM, UT Sat June 25 at 0101, tune-in to `Allan Weiner Worldwide` as he is lamenting that the WBCQ electric bill, already in 5-figures, has gone up $ 500 since last month without using any more power --- but he has no intention of raising airtime rates, including the $ 25/hour special for 5 and 9 MHz.
Soon he wants to give some program notes updates, which he gets from Robert (ex-UK) on the phone, including: even prisoners are welcome to do shows on WBCQ, and one such will be tomorrow at midnight ET (presumably meaning UT Sunday June 26 at 0400), playing music, `Ted Frog Radio` (or something like that).
`Tom Cole Radio` theater will present ``No Longer a Normal Man``, this Sat at 5 pm ET [21 UT] on 7490, same half-hour played twice. Also repeats Tue at 8 pm [UT Wed 0000] on 7490 [or is that something else? My scribbling unclear]. Also will be on 5 and 9 MHz later on.
`The Motor City Phantom` is a special, with Mike the Musician, about a band, this Saturday at 7 pm [23 UT] on 9330.
3250.04, June 25 at 0122 I check after a caller on 7489.97 says it`s audible in Ohio. JBA carrier here, but by 0140 when I measure it slightly stronger, enough to detect it`s synchronized with 7489.97.
5129.9, June 25 at 0123 is also carrying `AWWW` at S8, but delayed 48 seconds thru Area 51 electronix (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 5015, June 24 at 0544, this WRMIBS frequency is off; still on some others checked, 6855, 7570, 7730, 7780, and unusually strong this late at night, 11580 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 5830, June 24 at 0543, no signal from WTWW-1, and 5085 is open carrier S9+35 but dead air instead of `Midnight [sic] in the Desert`.
5830, June 24 at 1338, WTWW-1 is now on and modulated, to boot.
9930, June 24 at 1828 tune-in, WTWW-2 is open carrier/dead air during alleged `Dave Ramsey` show, and continues to be for hours and hours at random chex: 1843, 1858, 1900 without even an automatic ID break; and still dead at 2015.
12105, June 24 circa 2015, WTWW-3 is completely off the air. Only 9475 WTWW-1 is nominal. 12105 is still off at 0053 check June 25 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
