04/04/2014:  Dario, IZ4UEZ, will be active from 4th till 6th of April 2014 from
Castello Estense di Ferrara (WCA I-03646, DCI FE-006) with the special callsign
II4AA. The special call is to celebrate 90 years of the first Radio Club Station
in Italy I1AA that was located in the same QTH (Castello Estense) from 1924 till
1926. He plans to work: on 4th of April from 11:00 till 15:30 UTC, on 5th and
6th of April from 07:30 till 15:30 UTC on 40 and 20 metre CW and SSB. QSL via

05/04/2014:  Members of the Radio Club Croatian Flora Fauna (9A1WFF) will get on
the air from Lonjsko Polje (WWFF 9AFF-012), Krapje Djol (9AFF-096, first

05/04/2014:  Schalk, ZS1LL, will once again be active as A22LL from Lobatse,

05/04/2014:  Victor, CE1WFN plans to be active from Easter Island [aka Rapa Nui,
Isla de Pascua] (SA-001, DICE ICE-001, WLOTA 0319, WWFF CEFF-027) between 5-17th

05/04/2014:  Operators Leo, PD0HFP and Frans, PA5CA will be traveling through
the Morocco Desert and the Atlas mountain range in a 4x4 Jeep Wrangler
(Unlimited stretched version) vehicle between 5-20th April 2014. They plan to be
active as CN2CA (TNX to Abdou, CN8VO) using an Icom 7100 with Harris Solid-State
PA into HiQ-5 HF mobile antenna. Operations will be on 80-6 metres. QSL via

EA8CDW and Antonio EA8ED will be active on the 5th of April 2014 from Bateria de
San Francisco (WCA EA-01912, DCE GC-010). They plan to work as EA8ED/p on 40, 20

05/04/2014:  Operators Mans PA2HGJ, Hugo PA2HW, Robert PA2RDK, Frank PA3CNO,

Liechtenstein an operate as HB0/homecalls from the 5th to the 12th of March,

05/04/2014:  Project X Contest Team members Ron K5HM, Matt K5NGU, Rick W5RH and
possibly others will be activating Mustang Island State Park (NA-092, USI
TX-011S, WW Loc. EL17JQ), Nueces County, Texas, during the Texas State Parks on
the Air (TSPOTA) event ( on 5-6th April 2014. QRV using the
special callsign N5T on 80-10m SSB and PSK31, using 100W with 2 element 5 band

05/04/2014:  From 5-18th April 2014 Juergen DJ2VO, Martin DL3KMS and Ernst DK7AN
will activate PJ4H from Villa Desert Palm, Nikiboko North, island of Bonaire
(SA-006, WLOTA 1279, WWFF PAFF-024, WW Loc. FK52UD). QRV 24/7 on 160-10 metre
(except 60m) CW, SSB and RTTY. Log will be uploaded to ClubLog every day. QSL

06/04/2014:  Operators from the Malta Amateur Radio League will be active as
9H1MRL/p from the Gordan [aka Giordan, Gurdan] Lighthouse (ARLHS MLT-003, WLOTA
0046, WW Loc. JM76CB) on 6th April, 2014. The lighthouse is located on the
island of Gozo (IOTA EU-023, MIA MM-004). QRV on 80-10 metres, propagation
allowing, on or near the usual island and lighthouse frequencies. QSL direct to

07/04/2014:  Pedro (the CEO of, ON7WP, will again be active
from Buntu Village, North River district, The Gambia, as C5WP between 7-15 April
2014. QRV, when time permits, on 40-10 metre SSB. QSL only direct to ON7WP

(if you can afford it) some small sponsoring to help the organisation and pay

07/04/2014:  Manu, ZP9MCE, will operate holiday style as HI7/ZP9MCE from Punta

08/04/2014:  Look for Bodo, DF8DX, to be active as T88QX from the Palau Rental
Shack, located in the West Plaza by the Sea Hotel, Malakal Island, State of
Koror, Republic of Palau (OC-009, WW Loc. PJ77FH). QRV from 8-15th April 2014 on

09/04/2014:  Mini, JA2NQG, plans activity as JD1AAI from Chichi-jima (JIA
10-110, JCG 10007, Tokyo prefecture, WLOTA 2269), Ogasawara Islands (AS-031,
WWFF JAFF-018), Tokyo ken (prefecture), between 9-17 April 2014. QRV on the HF
bands, mainly CW, including an entry in the JIDX CW Contest from prefecture

09/04/2014:  Look for Hans DL6JGN, Ronald PA3EWP and Guenter DL2AWG to be
signing KH8/homecalls from Ofu Island (OC-077, USi AS002S, WLOTA 3053), Manu'a
County, American Samoa, between 9-20th April 2014. Plans are to be QRV on 40m to
10m using CW, SSB and RTTY. They will use 2x K3 and PA 600W with Monoband GP's
from their QTH which is unobstructed to north direction, ie no hills. QSL via

11/04/2014:  Wes, ZL3TE, will again be active from Viti Levu (OC-016, WLOTA
0055, WW Loc. RH82PB), Fiji, as 3D2SE between 11-14 April 2014. Main activity in
the JIDX CW contest, operating outside the contest mainly on CW with some Digi

11/04/2014:  Taka, JA8COE, plans activity as JA8COE/6 from Uji Island [Uji
Shima] (AS-067, WLOTA 2857), Kyoto prefecture, Japan, from 11-15 April 2014. QRV

11/04/2014:  Jukka, OH3OJ, plans activity as OH3OJ/8 from the island of Hailuoto
(EU-184, WLOTA 0580), Oulu Province, Finland, from 11-15th April, 2014. QRV on
the HF bands, mainly SSB, on or near the usual island and IOTA frequencies. QSL
via home call, direct or Bureau. []

11/04/2014:  Look for Jan, PE1GNP and Marc, PD7YY to be active as PH38EU from
Terschelling Island (EU-038, WLOTA 0943) between 11-14 April 2014. They plan to
be QRV on 40-10 meter SSB and 2 metre SSB. QSL via the Bureau or direct to
PE1GNP or PD7YY. []


15/04/2014:  Look between 15-25th April 2014, for Pascal F5JSD, to be active
from the island of Mahe (WLOTA 3286), Seychelles Inner Islands (AF-024), as
S79SD. It will be holiday style traffic, from 40 to 10 metres (even 6 if open),
mainly CW, in the morning and in the evening. Note: for the 40m band, Pascal
will be sending CW over 7050 kHz, according to the local regulations (7050-7100
kHz), and listening probably under 7030 kHz. Pascal will use 100w into a
vertical antenna. QSL via LoTW when he returns home, and other cards via the
French REF-Bureau (Please only this one), preferred. [F5NQL]

18/04/2014:  Operators Choon E20HHK, Teerawat HS3NBR and Boy HS8GLR plan to be
active as E20HHK/p from Nu Island [Koh Nu; aka Mouse Island] (IOTA AS-145),
located off the shore from Leam Samila, Thailand, from 18-20 April, 2014. QRV on
80-10 metres, all the usual modes. QSL via E21EIC. [DX World]

21/04/2014:  San, K5YY, will be active from Roma (Grid Loc. KG30), Maseru
District, Lesotho, as 7P8YY between 22nd April and 1st May, 2014. Plans are to
be QRV on the higher bands (17-10m) to give 7P to those who need a new country
or new-band country. Activity will be mainly SSB, with some time on RTTY and CW
as time permits. San's night operating will be on 30m CW, usually. QSL via K5YY,
direct only - no Buro, LoTW or OQRS. [DXAT]

29/04/2014:   Look for Take, JI3DST, to be active as JI3DST/6 from Kuchino-shima
[Kuchino island, Grid Loc. PL49], Tokara Archipelago (AS-049), Kagoshima
Prefecture, Kyushu Region, Japan, between 29th April and 5th May, 2014. Plans
are to be QRV on 40-2 metre SSB/CW (FM/RTTY/PSK31/JT65A). QSL via home call,
direct or JARL Bureau. []

01/05/2014:  From 1-5 May 2014, look for Markus DJ4EL/p, Dirk DK4DJ/p, Sebastian
DK6BA/p and Henning DK9LB/p to be active from the island of Fehmarn (EU-128,
DID/GIA O-001, DOK: N47, WW Loc. JO54MM) and the Westermarkelsdorf lighthouse
(DLTD/GLHA #57, ARLHS FED-261, WLOTA 0637). Fehmarn island is located in the
Baltic Sea, off the eastern coast of Schleswig-Holstein, Schleswig-Holstein
state, Ostholstein district, Germany. QRV on 40-10 metre CW, SSB and possibly
some PSK. QSL via the individual operators' home callsign, direct or by the DARC
Bureau. []

28/05/2014:  Regensburg hosts the 99th German Katholikentag (Catholics Day) from
28th May to 1st June, 2014. Special event station DL2014DKT operates in this
context from 1st April until 30th June, handing out the special DOK DKTR. QSOs
with the station also count towards the CONVENIAT award. QSLs will be sent
automatically via the bureau, uploads to LoTW, eQSL, ClubLog and DCL. Website: and


05/04/2014:  ARI Vercelli will be active as II1SWL on 5-13th April 2014 to
promote "amateur radio and radio listening". QSL via bureau or direct to IW1EHL.

06/04/2014:  From 6-20th April 2014, look for some members of the Union
Francaise des Telegraphistes UFT (The French CW Society), operating the special
callsign: TM29UFT, for the 29th UFT annual meeting which will be held in the
city of Aubagne, South France. It's a CW only operation, from 160m to 6 metres
and even more. All the QSO will be confirmed via the French REF Bureau (Only
this one will be used). SWL cards should go via this Bureau also. QSL manager

09/04/2014:  Between 9th and 15th of April 2014 look for the following stations
to be active to celebrate ARRL's centennial year: W1AW/1 operated by Dave K1TTT
located in Peru, Berkshire County, State of Massachusetts. W1AW/4 will be
operated by Bill K1SE (for PVRC/VA), located in Forest, Bedford County, State of
Virginia and will be joined by Steve K4EU (for PVRC/VA), located in Culpeper,

Special event station TM8BIRD operates in the context of the Festival de
l'Oiseau et de la Nature ( during the entire

Special callsign 8J740YYM celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the Tsugaru Sky
Club (JA7YYM), on all bands and modes, between April and August, 2014.
Tsugaru-city is located in the Tohoku region, Aomori ken (prefecture), island of
Honshu (AS-007, WLOTA 2376), Japan. QSL via the Bureau is preferred.

Members of IPA will be active as PG200KMAR between now and February 2015. See
their rota for details: 1 May - 28 May; 26 June - 23 July; 21 August - 17
September; 17 October - 12 November; 11 December - 7 January 2015. The occasion
is the 200th anniversary of the Royal Military Constabulary. QRV on all bands
and modes. QSOs with PG200KMAR will also count two points towards the Windmill
