21/12/2012:  Juha, OH1LEG, is currently active from Baie du Nord, Rodrigues
Island (AF-017, WFF 3BFF-004, WLOTA 4265) as 3B9/OH1LEG until 7 January 2013.
Holiday style operation on 160-10 metre, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. QSL direct only to

21/12/2012:  Nao, JN1RVS will be active as VP2MRV from the island of Montserrat
(NA-103, WLOTA 1475) from 21 December 2012 to 3 January 2013. He will operate CW
and RTTY on 80-10 metres. QSL via JA1HGY, direct or bureau, and LoTW; logsearch

21/12/2012:  Mike VP8CMH/MM / GM0HCQ reports that he has been given permission
to operate as VP8ROT from Station "R" Rothera (AA G-07, WAP GBR-12, WFF
GFF-043), Rothera Point, Ryder Bay, Adelaide Island (AN-001), whilst the the
James Clark Ross antarctic ship is there. The current plan is to operate from
the base on Friday 21st December at 21:15 local, which will be Saturday 22nd at
00:15z. Most likely going to be CW and working on 40, 30 or 20m depending on
what seems to be open. The Grid for the base is FC52wk. He is not taking any
requests for skeds, frequencies or modes. Mike is limited to time and modes and
will just do what he can when he gets there. QSL via GM0HCQ (direct only), LoTW

21/12/2012:  Markus, XE1/DJ4EL, is working from Tlaxcala near the Malinche
volcano (4460m), Mexico until 2 January 2013. QRV on 20-10 metre SSB, using
TS-50 (100 watts) with quads and verticals. QSL via homecall direct or DARC

22/12/2012:  Sigi, DK9FN, will once again return to Temotu Province, Solomon
Islands for a fourth time and be active from Lata, Nendo Island (OC-100), as
H40FN between (approx.) 22 December 2012 and 7 January 2013. QRV on the HF
bands, mainly CW with occasionally SSB. All of the QSOs will be confirmed
automatically via the bureau; the QSL route for direct cards is via HA8DD.

22/12/2012:  Alex, RD1AV, is a member of the summer team at Vostok Base (AA
UA-10, WAP RUS-13, WFF RFF-168, IOTA AN-016), Antarctica, and will be active
again in his spare time as RI1ANC from 22 December 2012 to 7 February 2013. QSL

22/12/2012:  Mathias, DJ2HD (V5/DJ2HD), Dietmar, DL3DXX (V5/DL3DXX) and Ulmar,
DK1CE (V5/DK1CE) will be active from Omaruru, Namibia (WW Loc. JG88DS), starting
22 December 2012 and ending at vaious dates during January 2013. They will be
joined by Ewald, DJ2BQ (V5/DJ2BQ) on 4 January 2013. Activity will be as
follows: V5/DL3DXX will operate 160-10 metre CW and SSB, while V5/DK1CE will
operate 160-10 metre CW until 2 January. V5/DJ2HD will operate 160-6m SSB and
RTTY until 12 January. V5/DJ2BQ will be QRV on 80-10m RTTY until 18 January. QSL

23/12/2012:  Look for Michael, 5P1KZX (EPC member #19406), to be active from
Frederikshavn, Vendsyssel-Thy / Nordjylland [aka North Jutland] (EU-171, DIA
NJ-001, WW Loc. JO57GK) from 23 December 2012 until 9 January 2013. Activity
will be on all HF bands, mainly using the Digital modes. Michael will try to be
active on the 160m band from EU-171 during Christmas 2012. QSL anyway you like -
LoTW, - paper QSL via the bureau or direct with SASE/SAE + sufficient

23/12/2012:  Kei, KG2A (also JJ1RJR), will be active as V25A from the island of
Antigua (NA-100, WLOTA 1118) from 23-29 December 2012. Plans are to be QRV on
160-10 metre SSB and CW. QSL direct only with SASE/SAE + sufficient postage to

24/12/2012:  Ryosei, JH0IXE, will once again be active as T8CW from the VIP
Guest Hotel free radio room on Koror Island (OC-009, GL PJ77FI), Republic of
Palau between 24 December 2012 and 6 January 2013. QRV on 160-6 metre RTTY,

26/12/2012:  Max, HB9TUZ, will be active from Gangehi island, North Male Atoll
(WLOTA 3911), Maldive Islands (AS-013), as 8Q7MS between 26 December 2012 and 3
January 2013. QRV holiday style on 80-10 metre SSB. Max will use a Kenwood
480sat - ANT.multiband vee inverted dipole and vertical random wire. QSL via

27/12/2012:  Look for Takeshi-san ("Take"), JS6RRR, and a friend to be active
from Miyako Island (AS-079, WLOTA 0249, JCC 4714, JCG 47004) between 27 December
2012 and 7 January 2013. They will use the following callsigns during this
activity: JS6RRR main (QSL via bureau preferred), JI3DST/JS6 Sub (QSL via JI3DST
by the JARL bureau), and JA3YEC/JS6 for JA (Only 1 way - not need your QSL).
Please check for details. Take will be QRV on 160-6 metre SSB, CW, FM,
RTTY and PSK31. Note: In case of heavy rain or other condition, the operation

28/12/2012:  Howie, K1VSJ/p will be active again from Martha's Vineyard (NA-046,
USi MA005S, WLOTA 2804), Dukes county, Massachusetts, between 28 December 2012
and 1 January 2013. He will focus on working JA stations on 10 or 15 metres

01/01/2013:  The RSGB celebrates its 100th jubilee in 2013. Special event
stations from all call areas (Gx100RSGB) will be active on the air. See also:

01/01/2013:  The Tera Radio Club (HB9OK), Vezia, Switzerland, plans to be active
with the special call HB30OK almost everyday between 1 January and 31 December
2013 celebrating the 30th anniversary of the club. QSL via HB9OCR, bureau or

01/01/2013:  The special event station S5300TP celebrates the 300th anniversary
of Tolmin Peasant Uprising. Members of the Radio club SOCA Tolmin (S59DAP) will
be active using special event callsigns throughout 2013. QSL via the bureau is

02/01/2013:  Cezar VE3LYC, Johan PA3EXX, Alex LU5WW and Luc LU1FAM hope to be
operating as LU6W from Isla Escondida (SA-096), Chubut Province, Argentina,
between 2-6 January 2013. Once again, the team would like to remind everyone
that this expedition includes some very difficult logistics. Consequently, the
above dates are approximate and can change depending on the weather conditions.
Moreover, there is no guarantee that the team will be able to land. Rest assured
the safety of everyone involved is paramount. Plans are to be QRV on the HF
bands using two IC-7000 100 watt, two multiband verticals, two 1 kW generators
and four car-type batteries. Hopefully two stations operating at one time. QSL

11/01/2013:  Rick 'The Locust', K6VVA, is now scheduled to return to the Bahamas
again. This time QRV as C6AVA on North Bimini Island (NA-048) from 11-14 January
2013. As always, this will be a primarily CW activation. Rick may also be QRV in
the NAQP CW Contest. "An important note to Italian IOTA Chasers: If I send your
callsign correctly the first time, please do NOT repeat your callsign 2 or 3
times as this unnecessarily wastes time. Stations who repeatedly call
out-of-turn (Pileup "Bullies") will be confronted and run the risk of NOT
getting into my log. If you cannot copy me, then please do NOT call." QSL ONLY

15/01/2013:  Leo, PP1CZ, will be on vacation with his family to Fernando de
Noronha Island (SA-003, DIB OC-01, WFF PYFF-016, WLOTA 1208) for 6 days between
15-21 January 2013. He will be QRV on the HF bands, in his spare time, as
PY0F/PP1CZ. Leo will focus on 160 and 80 metre CW. RTTY, CW and some SSB on the

18/01/2013:  Joe, K5KUA, will once again activate Galveston Island (NA-143, USi
TX001S), Galveston county, Texas, from 18-21 January 2013. While there he will
be working CW only on 40m thru 10m (mostly 20m and 40m) as conditions and time
permits. QSL direct or via bureau to K5KUA. []

01/02/2013:  Jean-Pierre, F6ITD, will be active from the Guadeloupe islands
between 1 February and 25 March 2013 as FG/F6ITD. He plans to visit: the commune
of Deshaies, Sainte-Rose 2 canton, Guadeloupe (Basse Terre) Island (NA-102, DIFO
FG-019), and La Desirade Island (NA-102, DIFO FG-004, WLOTA 1121). QRV on the HF

14/02/2013:  An international team from Belgium and The Netherlands will be on
air from Bujumbura, Burundi, as 9U4U from 14-23 February 2013. The QTH will be
at Club du Lac de Tanganyika on the shoresof Lake Tanganyika. 10 Ops in total

15/02/2013:  Look for Andrew, VK4NM and Peter, VK4LAT to be active from Fraser
Island (OC-142, WFF VKFF-216, WLOTA 2976), Queensland, Australia, between 15-18
February 2013. QRV on 80-10 metres. Emphasis on high bands as they usually are
only activate in the winter when 10m activity is low. QSL goes via M0OXO.

21/12/2012:  The special event station HF2012PLL (Port Lotniczy Lublin) is now
active on all bands and modes from Swidnik, Poland, until 14 January 2013 to
promote the new Lublin airport. Operators are Marek SP8QEJ, Arek SQ8BGR,

21/12/2012:  The Christmas special event station LY12XMAS is currently active on
all bands and modes from Siauliai, Lithuania, until 31 December 2012. QSL via

23/12/2012:  Special event station 8N119T will be active on all HF bands and
modes between 23 December 2012 and 25 March 2013 to celebrate the 65th
anniversary of the Tokyo Fire Department. (119 is the emergency number in Japan

  Bhagwati Prasad has been active for long time in different years by the Indian
Base of Maitri (WAP IND-03) as VU3BPZ and AT10BP, to the new Bharati Base (WAP
IND-04) as VU3BPZ/P, as AT10BP/R1 VU3BPZ/R1 at Russian Base of Novolazevskaya
(WAP RUS-09) and as VU3BPZ/MM aboard the Polar Ships Paardeberg and Ivan
Papanin. Cards for these operations must be requested only direct via I1HYW

During the 10th AAW (Antarctic Activity Week), to be held from 18 to 24 February
2013, a group of Spanish operators: EC1KV, EB1LA, EA1CUB, EA1CS, EA1WX, EA1AUM
and EA1WK we will be on the air, as every years; this time with the special
callsign AO1ICE just issued. Operation on 10-160mts HF + WARC bands, SSB, CW and
