 A61BK, Khalid, has decided to manage his own cards.  As of August 20th, all cards for Khalid should now go *_direct to him_* at his new address. Buzz, NI5DX, will no longer be confirming any cards for A61BK, however he will answer any A61BK cards that arrive in the next bureau shipment to NI5DX. Afterthis shipment, no A61BK cards will be confirmed via the bureau either.  Effective immediately, NI5DX will also no longer be answering requests for any of the special event calls (A60HD, A60A, A60JJ, A60ITU, A60WARD, and A60DWC).  Please check to see the QSL route. News from E51AND Palmerston Atoll -
    This is not a DXpedition - I am stranded on the Atoll until a ship comes.Possibly 16 or 17th September. I have minimal equipment with me and there are no stores or supplies on island so it is "make do with what we have!".
    Operating using a solar charged battery power FT857D into a Snowdonia Radio Co. SRCX80 5m vertical. CW is hand key and paper logging in a school exercise book. Life on island is COMPLETELY different from anything one might experience in the US or Europe and operating is interrupted by things like the battery being used to pump water, the social demands of my host family, a visit from the
island secretary...
    I'm not a DXer and not skilled at operating pile ups - please be patient with me. On CW please QRS to <8wpm -="-" br="br" demonstrating="demonstrating" if="if" me="me" respond="respond" to="to" want="want" you="you"> your CW prowess will guarantee that I won't be able to copy you. I work only the
QRS stations.
    I'm sure that my sudden disaapearance from a pile up, or my amateurishoperating procedures are frustrating to some - but I'm doing the best I can to work as many people as possible - I know it has been a decade since OC124 was active. Please be patient :-) Thanks. Andy [DX World]

    Vladimir RV3EFH/0 is again QRV from Bolshevik Island, Severnaya Zemlya (AS-042, RRA RR-07-03, RDA KK-65, WW Loc. OQ28DH). Bolshevik is the southernmost island of the Severnaya Zemlya group in the Russian Arctic. QSL via home call. [DX World]
VK0JJJ - Mawson Station - Mac Robertson Land, Antarctica Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition 2013/14 Operator: Craig, VK6JJJ
    Amateur radio station VK0JJJ at Mawson Station consists of a Flex 5000A (SDR) transceiver, Emtron DX-2SP linear amplifier, MFJ-986 Tuner, Heil PR-781 desk mic & Heil Pro Set Elite headset and a Sloping delta loop antenna. I will be travelling to the Australian Antarctic Station "Mawson" by the ice breaker Aurora Australis mid January as an expeditioner on the 2013/14 Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition. I will be wintering at Mawson Station for approximately twelve months, then returning to Australia around January 2014.
    Whilst there I hope to be QRO on bands 160m to 6m with a lot of priority given to 6m operation. I plan on installing a 6m propagation beacon to monitor openings kindly donated by David N3DB Secretary / Treasurer of The 6 Meter Beacon Project inc. (
    Modes will be SSB phone and digital modes. At this stage equipment is still in the planning stages;
    Main rig will probably be a Flex 5000A
    160m - 10m (Either 400 watts or 1000 watts depending on license conditions)
    160m - 10m Amplifier Emtron DX-2sp
    6m (Either 100 watts or 400 watts depending if I can borrow a power amp)
    6m Beacon antenna - either 1 or 2 HO loops
    Main 6m antenna - either 1 or 2 HO loops or 3 or 5 element yagi
    160 - 10m antenna - sloping delta loop
    QSL manager and further details pending. Information will be posted on Any equipment / antenna donations greatly appreciated.
