BITS & PIECES -

December 2013 - YOTA Month During the whole month of December, several countries will become active with 'YOTA' as their callsign suffix. The idea for this is to break the ice for some youngsters and take the microphone in the hand. Their goal: every band / mode is allowed. This is NOT a contest but a shout to the world of ham radio. Try to get as many youngsters on the air in this month. In many countries, youngsters with no license can go on air as second operator. You hear them a lot on the bands, so we want December to be a special month on the bands. Look for calls with the suffix 'YOTA'. Awards will be available as well. QSL and awards via Bjorn, ON9CFG. [UBA HF News]

EURAO Party - Autumn 2013 The European Radio Amateurs' Organization announces its first party on the air with the motto: 'make new friends with classical phone'. This is not a contest, it is just a radio meeting with a few simple 'rules', better to call them recommendations. The party will be held the weekend of 7 and 8 December, 2013, 00:00-24:00 UTC. Full details can be found at: http://www.eurao.org/

NAQCC Florida Chapter Parkpedition - WHAT: The Florida Chapter of NAQCC will be holding its monthly Field Event. FREQUENCIES: Please listen for us near 7.041, 10.116, 14.061 and 18.080 - WB4OMM will post to www.qrpspots.com via the Internet when we QRV and occasionally during the operation to let everyone know who is on and where.
