A few sources report that Darren, G0TSM, will be active as 3B8/G0TSM from between September 18-28th. Darren will be there on holiday, so activity will be limited to 2-3 hours per day on 40-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. Also, requests for Bureau QSL cards can be made via E-mail. The log will be uploaded to LoTW and ClubLog during the holiday."
5C0, MOROCCO (Special Event Cancelled)
The "Council of Europe Radio Amateur Club" (CERAC - TP2CE) was expected to team up with the "Associ- ation Royale des Radio Amateur du Maroc" (ARRAM) to activate the special callsign 5C0CE between August 20-21st, but the operation was cancelled by the ARRAM's President 16 hours before the CERAC team was to leave for Morocco. Francis, F6FQK, one of CERAC's Administrative Personal, informs OPDX that they received the Moroccan licence many months ago and the Radio Amateurs from Morocco have been preparing for this operation since last year with a lot of enthusiasm. There has been no direct details and/or motive received on behalf of the ARRAM's President about any problem. Francis believes that this incident is very damaging to the ham radio community. Also, the members of the CERAC team, who were expected to participate in the event, personally funded this expedition (train, fly etc…), and now it's too late to recover their paid expenses.
