According to his Web site (which is "now redundant" as he calls it), Simon states, "I hope to obtain a new licence for operation from my new QTH in the capital city of Yangon". Simon informs OPDX that he plans to "live and work in Yangon on a long- term basis now." He also mentioned that he is "in contact with the telecoms Regulator who is currently updating all the outdated telecoms and radio- comms laws in Myanmar. However, right now he is very busy with the issue of new mobile telephone network licences, so I am sure that any progress in the ham radio laws will be slow. To try to improve my relationship with the government departments, I am trying to get a new job actually in the new capital city of Nay Pyi Taw, where all the government offices are located..."
